We’re recruiting for a Head of Growth Strategy who will be responsible for building and running an outstanding sales function to support our scaling journey. The successful candidate is someone who has had experience driving business growth through strategic programs that target enterprise companies at the C-suite level. This is a person who understands the fundamental drivers of the business, customers, partners, and competitors, and the right questions that need to be asked to solve our customers' pains.

Business development experience is critical to making smart decisions in the pursuit of long-term business value. The interplay among strategy, relationship management, and sales will fuel our company's growth path. As a member of our senior management, the successful candidate will be comfortable in a leadership role that demands clear communication and presentation skills.

The Head of Growth’s Mission & Outcomes

This role is for a driver who will be responsible for building and running an outstanding sales function to support our scaling journey.

Your mission is to…

  • Execute business development operations with passion as you navigate between doing and strategic planning.
  • Build a world-class, agile sales structure and team, based on lean controls like Netflix’s model of “freedom and responsibility” to support our scaling journey.
  • Create and implement the “Growth algorithm” to scale our business to be a world-class provider that unleashes business and employee potential.
  • Organize and manage all company business development activities including developing C-suite relationships, developing new business opportunities, and creating a repeatable, scalable growth process.
  • Take a lead role in the development of proposals and presentations for new business materials to create and nurture business opportunities and partnerships.
  • Identify trends and customer needs, building a short/medium/long-term sales pipeline in accordance with targets.
  • Develop strategies and positions by analyzing competitor and global business trends.
  • Drive the thinking on how to communicate our value propositions and partner with marketing to roll out a communications strategy.
  • Inspire the team, track performance, and report metrics.
  • Maintain a 360-degree view and be a thought partner who can provide strategic advice, who isn’t afraid to offer an alternate point of view.

The successful candidate will immediately contribute in the following ways:

1. Lead and build our Growth function.

You have a matured leadership style that inspires people to follow you. You will take on a small team and will start off by being extremely hands-on, whilst setting out the roadmap for the dream team structure that we need.

You will design a responsive and agile sales operating model that will encompass all areas of the business that touch the customer. You will build a world-class growth function embracing the best of digital technologies, that will be able to transform significant volumes of available data into relevant business intelligence in order to inform and accelerate our decision-making and drive growth further and faster, whilst pre-empting tomorrow’s company needs.

2. Identify and build customer relationships.

You will be laser-focused on identifying potential client groups and building strong relationships with Fortune 500 companies while securing multi-million dollar professional service contracts. You will work to understand the problems they face, and how our methodologies, tools, and services can best help them on their business journey.

In this role, you are the eyes and ears of our customers, and you will be responsible for leading the entire experience. You will also forge strong bonds with individuals or groups inside the customer’s organization to be able to build their strategic muscle within their company.

3. Become a trusted partner to the management team.

You will sit alongside the management team, providing critical growth insights and options that will help power our strategy and execution.

You bring a relentless focus and obsession on scale. Your proven experience with scaling will strengthen better decision-making for the company. You will help us maximize value creation opportunities. As our Head of Growth Strategy, you will identify and pull key levers to keep our growth ambitions on track and shift our revenue model towards being recurring.

Requirements For The Role

2. You perform at the highest level.

These are the technical qualifications we require:

  • Seasoned Business Development/Growth professional with 10+ years of experience, currently at a level of Head of Business Development/Growth Strategy, VP, or similar senior role in a medium to large enterprise.
  • Ability to secure deals and relationships with Fortune 500 companies.
  • Proven experience helping an organization scale globally in your capacity as a growth/sales leader. This is a prerequisite, ideally in the context of a growth/scale-up company.
  • Executive experience with both B2B, B2C, online, and bricks & mortar business models and growth trends is an asset.
  • Strong experience with selling professional services, designing consulting engagements, and writing executive proposals.
  • Experiences with pioneering effective virtual/remote sales approaches (e.g. designing executive forums) based on hypothesis and testing iteration Proven experience in selling multi-million dollar professional service contracts and growing revenue by an order of magnitude in a scaling organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of all Business development/sales functions and procedures and able to lead a growth model roadmap.
  • Advanced degree in business administration, sales & marketing or related field; MBA is a plus.
